Media Advisory: House Health, Human Services Committee to consider, hear bills concerning permanent commissions

STATE HOUSE – The House Health and Human Services Committee meets tomorrow for a vote on a resolution changing the membership of one permanent legislative commission and a hearing on a bill to create another.
The committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday, April 28, at the rise of the House session (sometime after 4:30 p.m.) in Room 135 on the first floor of the State House. The committee is scheduled to vote on:

2026-H 7952 — Sponsored by Rep. Grace Diaz (D-Dist. 11, Providence), this joint resolution amends the membership of the Permanent Legislative Commission on Child Care with 27 members to ensure that the state has a high-quality and affordable childcare and early learning services network.

2026-H 8402 — Sponsored by Rep. Lauren H. Carson (D-Dist.75, Newport), this bill would establish the Permanent Joint Study Commission on Aging and a Multi-Sector Plan on Aging.
