Media Advisory: House Health, Human Services Committee to vote on foot care bill
|
STATE HOUSE – The House Health and Human Services Committee meets today for votes on four bills, including one to allow nurses to provide home foot care.
The committee is scheduled to meet today, Monday, March 30, at 4 p.m. in Room 101 on the first floor of the State House. The committee is slated to consider:

2026-H 7029 — Sponsored by Rep. Jennifer Boylan (D-Dist. 66, Barrington, East Providence), this bill would enable nurses to provide routine foot care in patients’ homes, provided they get proper training and demonstrate clinical competency. The committee is slated to consider this amendment to the legislation. This committee vote was rescheduled from last week.

2026-H 7424 — This bill sponsored by Rep. Joseph J. Solomon Jr. (D-Dist. 22, Warwick) would allow collaborative pharmacy agreements enabling licensed pharmacists with advanced training and experience to work in collaboration with physicians for the purpose of drug therapy management of patients.

2026-H 7538 — Sponsored by Rep. Teresa A. Tanzi (D-Dist. 34, South Kingstown, Narragansett), this bill requires health care providers and facilities to inform patients of the use of artificial intelligence to memorialize patient visits.

2026-H 7922 — This bill sponsored by Rep. Arthur Handy (D-Dist. 18, Cranston) would repeal the older of the two existing chapters related to speech-language pathologists and audiologists and make several amendments to reconcile the two statutes into one.

2026-H 7345 — The Healthy Kids Act, sponsored by House Health and Human Services Committee Chairwoman Susan R. Donovan (D-Dist. 69, Bristol, Portsmouth), would require restaurants offering children’s meals to offer at least two healthy children’s meals, or 25% of the children’s meals on its menu, whichever is greater.

2026-H 7994 — Sponsored by Rep. Julie A. Casimiro (D-Dist. 31, North Kingstown, Exeter), this bill expands the Department of Children, Youth and Families’ powers to include overseeing and administering comprehensive behavioral health services for children with serious emotional disturbances and children with developmental or functional disabilities.

2026-H 7540 — This bill sponsored by Representative Tanzi would protect routine childhood and adult immunization vaccine access by establishing that recommendations are developed by the Department of Health from evidence-based, medically sound scientific research.
