Media Advisory: House Health, Human Services Committee to vote on foot care bill
|
STATE HOUSE – The House Health and Human Services Committee meets Tuesday for hearings on a number of bills related to health insurance and a vote on a legislation to allow nurses to provide home foot care.
The committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday, March 24, at the rise of the House session (sometime after 4:30 p.m.) in Room 135 on the first floor of the State House. The committee is slated to consider:

2026-H 7029 — Sponsored by Rep. Jennifer Boylan (D-Dist. 66, Barrington, East Providence), this would allow nurses to provide routine foot care in patients’ homes, provided they get proper training and demonstrate clinical competency. The committee is slated to consider this amendment to the legislation.
The committee will then hold hearings on numerous bills, including:

2026-H 7118 — This bill sponsored by Rep. John J. Lombardi (D-Dist. 8, Providence) directs the Board of Pharmacy to annually identify up to 15 prescription drugs with increased costs and provide the list to the Attorney General to obtain reasons for the cost increases.

2026-H 7189 — Sponsored by Rep. Rebecca Kislak (D-Dist. 4, Providence), this bill would require fair pharmacy reimbursement from pharmacy benefit managers and prohibits discrimination against nonaffiliated pharmacies or pharmacists.

2026-H 7346 — This bill sponsored by Rep. Raymond A. Hull (D-Dist. 6, Providence, North Providence) would prohibit insurers from paying rates lower than the approved Medicaid rate set by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services.
