Media Advisory: House Health, Human Services Committee to vote on three health bills
|
STATE HOUSE – The House Health and Human Services Committee meets Thursday to vote on three health care bills.
The committee is scheduled to meet Thursday, May 1, at the rise of the House session in Room 101 on the first floor of the State House. The committee is scheduled to vote on:

2025-H 6209— Sponsored by Rep. Jenni A. Furtado (D-Dist. 64, East Providence, Pawtucket), this bill would include any costs paid by an enrollee or on behalf of the enrollee by a third party when calculating an enrollee’s overall contribution to any out-of-pocket maximum or cost sharing requirement under a health plan as of Jan. 1, 2026.

2025-H 6210 — This bill sponsored by Rep. Teresa A. Tanzi (D-Dist. 34, South Kingstown, Narragansett) would ensure that statements by a health care provider regarding the unanticipated outcome of a patient’s medical care and treatment shall be inadmissible as evidence of an admission of liability or as evidence of an admission.

2025-H 6244 — Sponsored by House Health and Human Services Committee Chairwoman Susan R. Donovan (D-Dist. 69, Bristol, Portsmouth), this bill would prohibit any personnel, in any health care facility, from asking the legal immigration status of any patient.
