Media Advisory: House Labor Committee to hear bills concerning wages
|
STATE HOUSE – The House Labor Committee is scheduled to meet Wednesday for hearings on numerous bills concerning payment of wages.
The meeting is scheduled Wednesday, March 5, at 4 p.m. in Room 101 on the first floor of the State House.
Among the bills scheduled to be heard are:

2025-H 5029 — Sponsored Rep. David A. Bennett (D-Dist. 20, Warwick, Cranston) this bill would gradually raise the minimum wage to $20 per hour by 2030.

2025-H 5507 — This bill sponsored by Rep. Leonela Felix (D-Dist. 61, Pawtucket) would gradually raise the minimum wage for tipped employees to $14.95 per hour by 2031.

2025-H 5304 — This bill sponsored by House Deputy Speaker Raymond A. Hull (D-Dist. 6, Providence, North Providence) would require employers with 500 or more employees to establish a pre-tax commuter transportation fringe benefit program.
The meeting will be televised on Capitol Television, which can be seen on Cox channel 61, on i3Broadband channel 15 and on Verizon channel 34. It will be live streamed at capitoltvri.cablecast.tv.
Testimony on the bills being heard will be accepted in person or in writing via email to HouseLabor@rilegislature.gov. Written testimony must include a name and any applicable organization, the bill number(s) and viewpoint (for/against/neither). It will be considered a public document.
