2/13/2023 Media Advisory: House Health, Human Services Committee meets tomorrow
STATE HOUSE – The House Health and Human Services Committee meets tomorrow for hearings on several bills.

The committee is scheduled to meet tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the rise of the House Session (sometime after 4:30 p.m.) in the House Lounge on the second floor of the State House.

Among the bills on the committee’s calendar are:
  • 2023-H 5012 — Sponsored by Rep. David A. Bennett (D-Dist. 20, Warwick, Cranston), this bill would limit copays, coinsurance or office deductibles for services of a physical therapist to the amount authorized for the services of a primary care physician or osteopath.
  • 2023-H 5014 — Also sponsored by Representative Bennett, this bill would allow for the licensing of surgical assistants to assist doctors in performing surgeries.
  • 2023-H 5349 — This bill sponsored by Rep. Stephen M. Casey (D-Dist. 50, Woonsocket) would amend the conditions upon which a nurse would be exempt from certain licensing requirements to include eligibility to practice before taking and receiving results of the NCLEX exam.
The meeting will be televised by Capitol Television, which can be seen on channels 15 and 61 for high definition by Cox Communications subscribers, channel 15 for i3Broadband (Formally Full Channel) viewers channel 34 for Verizon subscribers.
