Rep. O’Brien assures that new Bally’s owners won’t affect state’s contract
|
STATE HOUSE – Rep. William W. O’Brien, chairman of Permanent Joint Committee on State Lottery, is assuring the public that the recently announced expected ownership change of the Bally’s Corporation will not change the contracts in place with the state.
“I have recently received many calls of concern about the planned ownership change of Bally’s and how it will affect Rhode Island. As the chair of the Permanent Joint Committee on State Lottery, I am happy to report that this expected ownership change will not affect the contracts in place between Bally’s and the state. Business will remain as usual and I expect Bally’s to continue to be the tremendous partners to the state that they have demonstrated to be over the years,” said Representative O’Brien (D-Dist. 54, North Providence).
“The Lottery is continuing to review the transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval. At this time, we do not anticipate an impact with respect to the long-term Master Contracts with Bally’s,” said Mark Furcolo, Director of the Rhode Island Lottery.
