MEDIA ADVISORY: House Finance Committee posts FY 2024 budget on Friday for possible consideration

STATE HOUSE – The House Finance Committee has posted the FY 2024 state budget for potential consideration on the evening of Friday, June 2 in Room 35 of the State House,. The budget (2023-H 5200), introduced on January 19 by House Finance Committee Chairman Marvin Abney (D-Dist. 73, Newport, Middletown), at the request of Governor Daniel McKee, is posted, but the committee will be considering amended legislation, to be posted at the hearing.
The budget is posted for consideration at 4 p.m., although it is expected to be heard later in the evening. It has been posted to meet the 48-hour posting requirement, although an agreement has yet to be reached.
The meeting will be televised live by Capitol Television, which can be seen by Cox Communications subscribers on channels 15 and 61 for high definition, on channel 15 by i3Broadband viewers, and channel 34 for Verizon subscribers.
