5/16/2022 Media Advisory: Senate Environment Committee sets votes Wednesday
 STATE HOUSE – The Senate Environment and Agriculture Committee is scheduled to meet Wednesday, May 18, at 4:30 p.m. in Room 313 on the third floor of the State House for votes on several measures, including:
  • Advice and consent of the reappointments of Thomas Magliocchetti, Peter Gill Case and Joseph Garlick Jr; and the appointments of David A. Caldwell Jr.  and Robert Izzo  to the Rhode Island Energy Efficiency and Resource Management Council;
  • Advice and consent of the appointments of Harry Oakley, Kate Grant and Brett Feldman to the Energy Efficiency Resource Board.
  • 2022-S 2178 — Sponsored by Sen. V. Susan Sosnowski (D-Dist. 37, South Kingstown, New Shoreham), this bill would require the Public Utilities Commission to establish a docket to review and analyze solar energy development.
  • 2022-S 2292 — This bill sponsored by Sen. Joshua Miller (D-Dist. 28, Cranston, Providence) would provide solar energy system consumers with consumer protection regarding disclosures cancellation and liens.
  • 2022-S 2299 — Also sponsored by Senator Miller, this bill restricts the use of neonicotinoids, which are a class of insecticides.
  • 2022-S 2691 — This bill sponsored by Environment and Agriculture Committee Chairwoman Dawn Euer (D-Dist. 13, Newport, Jamestown) requires the Office of Energy Resources to initiate the process of developing one or more programs and associated funding mechanisms for electric energy storage resources connected to the electric distribution system.
