MEDIA ADVISORY: Senate Finance meets tomorrow for budget and bank taxation legislation

STATE HOUSE – The Senate Finance Committee will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, June 11 at the rise of the Senate (approximately 6 p.m.) in Room 211 of the State House to hear and/or consider the FY 25 state budget and legislation that would change how banks are taxed in the state.
The committee is chaired by Sen. Louis P. DiPalma (D-Dist. 12, Middletown, Little Compton, Newport, Tiverton).
The FY 25 state budget (2024-H 7225Aaa) sponsored by House Finance Committee Chairman Marvin L. Abney (D-Dist. 73, Newport, Middletown) is scheduled for a hearing and/or consideration.
Legislation (2024-S 3152) sponsored by Chairman DiPalma that provides banks with an election to use the allocation and apportionment method of income for purposes of taxation is also scheduled for a hearing and/or consideration at the meeting.
The meeting will be televised by Capitol Television, which can be seen on Cox channel 61, on i3Broadband channel 15 and on Verizon channel 34. It will be live streamed at capitoltvri.cablecast.tv.
