3/25/2024 MEDIA ADVISORY: House Finance Committee meets on Thursday to hear several bills
STATE HOUSE – The House Finance Committee will meet on Thursday, March 28 at the RISE of the House (approximately 4:45 p.m.) in Room 35 of the State House to hear testimony on several bills.

Among the legislation scheduled to be heard are the following bills:
  • 2024-H 7030, sponsored by Rep. Samuel A. Azzinaro (D-Dist. 37, Westerly), reduces the assessment by the Rhode Island Veterans Home against a resident's net income from 80 percent to 50 percent.
  • 2024-H 7127, sponsored by Rep. Evan P. Shanley (D-Dist. 24, Warwick, East Greenwich), establishes the Rhode Island Secure Choice Retirement Savings Program to be administered by the general treasurer.
  • 2024-H 7679, sponsored by Rep. Deborah A. Fellela (D-Dist. 43, Johnston), provides that when a registrant voluntarily cancels the registrant's motor vehicle registration, that person would receive a partial refund of the fee that had been paid.
  • 2024-H 7996, sponsored by Rep. Carol Hagan McEntee (D-Dist. 33, South Kingstown, Narragansett), reduces the interest rate on delinquent state tax payments to 12 percent per annum.
