7/25/2023 Rep. O’Brien to introduce RIC license plate bill next session
STATE HOUSE – Rep. William W. O’Brien (D-Dist. 54, North Providence) will be introducing a bill in the upcoming 2024 legislative session that would create Rhode Island College (RIC) charity license plates.  Proceeds from the sale of the license plates would go to funding scholarships for RIC students.

“Education is the key to success and RIC provides the best and most affordable higher educational experience in the state.  With that being said, the costs of higher education are still too challenging for some, even at an institution such as RIC that prides itself for its affordability.  By creating these plates, alumni and supporters of RIC can proudly display their support for the college while also helping future generations of RIC students achieve their dreams,” said Representative O’Brien.

As with most charity license plates, a minimum amount of license plates would have to be preordered in order for the Division of Motor Vehicles to begin issuing the plates.
