MEDIA ADVISORY: Senate Committee on Environment and Agriculture to hear bill on vehicle emissions standards

STATE HOUSE – The Senate Committee on Environment and Agriculture is scheduled to meet this Wednesday, May 10, at 4 p.m. in the Senate Lounge on the second floor of the State House. The committee will consider four bills, including:

2023-S 0195 — This bill, introduced by Chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Agriculture Alana DiMario (D-Dist. 36, Narragansett, North Kingstown, New Shoreham), would requires the Department of Environmental Management adopt motor vehicle emissions standards based on California's promulgated standards.

2023-S 0061 — This bill, introduced by Sen. Linda L. Ujifusa (D-Dist. 11, Portsmouth, Bristol), would require carbon-emissions-reduction goals be considered in energy plant siting proceedings.
