Media Advisory: House Environment Committee meets tomorrow
STATE HOUSE – The House Environment and Natural Resources Committee meets tomorrow for hearings on a variety of bills.
The meeting is scheduled
tomorrow, Thursday, March 10, at the rise of the House session (sometime after 4:30 p.m.) in Room 101
on the first floor of the State House. Among the bills on its calendar are:
— Sponsored by Rep. Deborah Ruggiero (D-Dist. 74, Jamestown, Middletown), this bill would increase renewable energy production and supply by requiring that 100 percent of Rhode Island’s electricity by offset by renewable production by 2030.
— This bill sponsored by Rep. Carol Hagan McEntee (D-Dist. 33, South Kingstown, Narragansett) would institute a refundable 10-cent deposit for non-reusable beverage containers.
— Sponsored by Rep. June S. Speakman (D-Dist. 68, Warren, Bristol) this bill requires that all lawn care devices have zero emissions by 2027, and a plan for such submitted to the House and Senate by 2023.
