10/4/2021 Media Advisory: Commission to Study Land Use schedules first meeting
STATE HOUSE – The Special Legislative Commission to Study the Entire Areas of Land Use, Preservation, Development, Housing, Environment, and Regulation will hold its first meeting on Tuesday, October 5.

Created by a resolution (2021-H 5950) sponsored by Speaker K. Joseph Shekarchi as part of a package of legislation he backed to address Rhode Island’s housing needs, the Commission will study all aspects of land use, preservation, development, production, regulation, zoning, housing and the environment. The commission will make recommendations to enable the state to ensure and promote land use that allows for sustainable and equitable economic growth in support of efforts to achieve the state’s affordable housing goals.

The Commission is scheduled to meet Tuesday, October 5 at 2:00 p.m. in the House Lounge of the State House.
