Media Advisory: Bills on PFAS in water, sales tax exemption for reusable bags up for committee vote in Senate
STATE HOUSE – The Senate Environment and Agriculture Committee has scheduled votes Wednesday on bills to set standards for PFAS in water bodies and making reusable shopping bags exempt from sales tax.

Scheduled for votes are:
— This bill sponsored by Sen. Walter S. Felag Jr. (D-Dist. 10, Warren, Bristol, Tiverton) requires the Department of Heath to establish maximum contaminate levels of PFAS in drinking water, ground- and surface waters, and defines PFAS as hazardous substances.
— Also sponsored by Senator Felag, this bill exempts reusable bags, not including paper or plastic bags, from the state sales tax.
