Rep. Alzate condemns President Trump’s order ending birthright citizenship

STATE HOUSE – Rep. Karen Alzate (D-Dist. 60, Pawtucket, Central Falls) is issuing the following statement condemning President Donald Trump’s recent executive order ending birthright citizenship:
“As a proud first-generation American citizen, I find President Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship completely intolerable and it goes against everything our country has stood for since its inception. We are a nation of immigrants and this executive order denigrates all those who have helped shape and build our nation’s storied past. I proudly stand with the millions of people who are fighting this unconstitutional order, including Attorney General Neronha and other attorneys general across the country, and I urge President Trump to reconsider this action that will only weaken our country into the future,” said Representative Alzate.
