MEDIA ADVISORY: Senators Cano, Gallo to host tenth annual Rhode Island Education Summit on Oct. 27

STATE HOUSE – Senator Sandra Cano, Chairwoman of the Senate Education Committee (D-Dist. 8, Pawtucket), and Sen. Hanna M. Gallo, Senate President Pro Tempore (D-Dist. 27, Cranston, West Warwick), will host the tenth annual Rhode Island Education Summit on Thursday, October 27 at 4 p.m. in Gaige Hall, Room 200 on the Rhode Island College Campus in Providence.
This year’s summit theme is “Increasing Access to Mental Health Supports in Schools.”
The event will bring together policy makers, practitioners and stakeholders to examine promising practices, current gaps and opportunities for delivering high-quality mental and behavioral health services to students and educators across Rhode Island.
The summit will feature keynote remarks from Elizabeth Burke Bryant, Executive Director of RI Kids Count, as well as panel discussions highlighting what's working today - as well as what work remains - to strengthen the intersection of education and health in our schools.
