1/10/2022 MEDIA ADVISORY: Redistricting Commission to consider reapportionment maps on Wednesday
STATE HOUSE — The Special Commission on Reapportionment will meet Wednesday at the State House to consider the new House, Senate and Congressional district maps.

The meeting is scheduled Wednesday, Jan. 12, at 5 p.m. in room 35 in the basement of the State House. Masks are required inside the building.

In addition to the expected vote on the new maps, the commission will review its work and discuss the effects on redistricting maps for the reallocation of prisoners.

The state constitution calls for the General Assembly to reapportion its districts as well as the two congressional districts after each 10-year federal census. The commission is co-chaired by Sen. Stephen R. Archambault (D-Dist. 22, Smithfield, North Providence, Johnston) and Rep. Robert D. Phillips (D-Dist. 51, Woonsocket, Cumberland).
