8/9/2018 Rep. McEntee and Rep. Tanzi present $5,000 grant to South Kingstown Forest Fire Service
STATE HOUSE – Rep. Carol Hagan McEntee (D-Dist. 33, South Kingstown, Narragansett) and Rep. Teresa A. Tanzi (D-Dist. 34, South Kingstown, Narragansett) recently presented the South Kingstown Forest Fire Service with a legislative grant for $5,000 for the purpose of buying a crucial piece of equipment that will protect firefighters in the line of duty.

The service is using the grant to purchase Blitzfire portable monitors.  The device is used to apply large amounts of water to quickly knock down heavy fires from the exterior in order to make it safer for firefighters to gain entry.  The device can also be used to protect exposures.

“The SK Forest Fire Service protects us all and it is an honor to help them secure a piece of equipment that will protect those that selflessly protect our community, especially since they are an all-volunteer fire department and I want to thank them for their service to our community,” said Representative McEntee.

“It is imperative that our first responders have adequate equipment when the call comes, and it is a pleasure to help our brave firefighters perform their dangerous job with as much safety protection as possible,” said Representative Tanzi.
