8/3/2026 Media Advisory: Sen. Euer to host expungement clinic with Public Defender’s office
STATE HOUSE — Sen Dawn Euer is hosting an expungement clinic and resource fair with the Rhode Island Public Defender’s office Wednesday in Newport.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug 5, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Community College of Rhode Island’s Newport Campus at 1 John H. Chafee Blvd in Newport, RI. The event will allow those with criminal records to learn about the rights, connect with community resources and consult with a public defender about their expungement options.

“Support for Rhode Islanders with criminal convictions in their past, including legal expungement, not only helps these individuals to rebuild full and productive lives, but also reduces recidivism while contributing to safer, healthier and more productive communities across our state,” said Senator Euer (D-Dist. 13, Newport, Jamestown). “I’m proud to work with the Public Defender’s office and so many other wonderful organizations that do this important work to help those with criminal records successfully reintegrate into society by bringing all these resources into one convenient location here in Newport.”

Other partners participating in the event include the Aquidneck Island Adult Learning Center, CCRI, the Formerly Incarcerated Union of Rhode Island, Newport Mental Health, Sisters United for Freedom, Turning Around Ministries and the Women’s Resource Center.
