Rep. Morales urges Grove Bay Hospitality to reach fair agreement with food and beverage workers at T.F. Green

STATE HOUSE — Rep. David Morales today affirmed his support for food and beverage workers at Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport in their efforts to negotiate a new contract.
“All workers deserve livable wages and the right to work under a fair contract,” said Representative Morales (D-Dist. 7, Providence). “T.F. Green is one of the fastest-growing airports in the United States and has earned national recognition for the quality of experience it provides travelers. That success is only possible because of the hardworking frontline employees who keep the airport running every day. Yet many of these workers are struggling to keep up with rising rents, higher costs of living, and an economy that feels increasingly out of reach for working families. As Rhode Island welcomes visitors from around the world during the World Cup, Grove Bay Concessions has the responsibility to ensure that the workers who power its operations are treated with dignity and respect. I urge Grove Bay management to negotiate a fair contract with Unite Here Local 26 that reflects the value our food and beverage workers bring to the airport each day.”
The workers, represented by Unite Here Local 26, whose contract with Grove Bay Hospitality Group expired Aug. 1, 2025, are calling for wages that meet the rising cost of living. Hosts and cashiers make $16.50 per hour, just above minimum wage.
The workers announced Monday that they voted to authorize a strike June 22 if Grove Bay does not agree to a new contract.
