MEDIA ADVISORY: House Finance Committee meets tomorrow to hear legislation
|
STATE HOUSE – The House Finance Committee will be meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, June 2 at the RISE of the House (approximately 5 p.m.) in Room 35 of the State House to hear testimony on a variety of legislation.
Among the legislation scheduled to be heard by the committee are the following bills:

2026-H 7055, sponsored by Rep. Arthur J. Corvese (D-Dist. 55, North Providence), allows state union employees to negotiate longevity payments in their collective bargaining agreements.

2026-H 7702, sponsored by Rep. Charlene M. Lima (D-Dist. 14, Cranston, Providence), includes payment of Social Security benefits to the modification reducing federal adjusted gross income on personal income taxes.

2026-H 7703, sponsored by Representative Lima, suspends the gross earnings tax on electric and gas companies until January 1, 2036.

2026-H 7824, sponsored by Representative Lima, terminates the requirement that the Public Utilities Commission allocate $5 million annually to the Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank for use with energy efficient programs.

2026-H 8603, sponsored by Rep. Julie A. Casimiro (D-Dist. 31, North Kingstown, Exeter), exempts an individual in foster or adoptive homes from the fee associated with drivers education classes at the Community College of Rhode Island.
