Media Advisory: House Environment Committee to meet Tuesday to consider creating commission to study sewage sludge disposal

STATE HOUSE — The House Environment and Natural Resources Committee will meet Tuesday to vote on a bill to create a joint commission to study effective sewage sludge management and disposal.
The committee is scheduled to meet tomorrow, Tuesday, April 7, at 3:45 p.m. in Room 101 on the first floor of the State House. The committee is scheduled vote on the following resolution:

2026-H 7532 — This resolution introduced by Rep. Terri Cortvriend (D-Dist. 72, Portsmouth, Middletown) would create a 19-member joint commission to study and provide recommendations for effective sewage sludge management. The committee will also consider an amendment to the resolution.
Written testimony must be submitted to HouseEnvironmentandNaturalResources@rilegislature.gov. Testimony must include your name, the bill number and your viewpoint, whether for, against or neither. Sign-up sheets for in-person testimony will be available in the hearing room.
