Media Advisory: House Environment Committee to meet Tuesday
|
STATE HOUSE — The House Environment and Natural Resources Committee will meet Tuesday to hear bills relating to the Consumer PFAS Ban Act of 2024, fishing licenses and wastewater treatment facilities.
The committee is scheduled to meet tomorrow, Tuesday, March 31, at the rise of the House, sometime after 4:30 p.m. in Room 135 on the first floor of the State House. The committee is scheduled to hear several bills, including:

2026-H 7734 — This legislation introduced by Rep. Terri Cortvriend (D-Dist. 72, Portsmouth, Middletown) would amend the Consumer PFAS Ban Act of 2024 by clarifying enforcement provisions.

2026-H 7619 — This legislation introduced by Rep. Tina L. Spears (D-Dist. 36, Charlestown, New Shoreham, South Kingstown, Westerly) would allow any member of a federally recognized Indian tribe located in Rhode Island to receive recreational freshwater and saltwater fishing licenses free of charge.

2026-H 8133 — This legislation introduced by Rep. Joseph J. Solomon Jr. (D-Dist. 22, Warwick) would assess a fee of one cent per every 10,000 gallons of wastewater treatment facility effluent discharge to support shellfish transplant programs.
