3/27/2026 Media Advisory: As legislators and moms, representatives to push for bills to protect kids from digital harm
STATE HOUSE – Representatives Tina L. Spears (D-Dist. 36, Charlestown, New Shoreham , South Kingstown, Westerly) Justine Caldwell (D-Dist. 30, East Greenwich, West Greenwich) and Megan L. Cotter (D-Dist. 39, Exeter, Richmond, Hopkinton)— all mothers of children and teens — have scheduled a media event Tuesday to highlight a package of bills to address children’s safety online and using technology.

The event is scheduled Tuesday, March 31, at 3 p.m., in the House Lounge on the second floor of the State House.

They are to be joined by the Senate sponsors of the bills: Senate President Valarie J. Lawson (D-Dist. 14, East Providence), Sen. Louis P. DiPalma (D-Dist. 12, Middletown, Little Compton, Tiverton, Newport) and Sen. Lori Urso (D-Dist. 8, Pawtucket); Attorney General Peter F. Neronha; parents whose children have had harmful experiences stemming from technology use; and community advocates from across Rhode Island.
