3/17/2026 Rep. Casimiro honored at 4th Annual Congressman Magaziner’s Women’s Luncheon
STATE HOUSE – Rep. Julie A. Casimiro was honored with the “Women Leading the Way” award at Congressman Seth Magaziner’s 4th Annual Women’s Luncheon.  The event was held on March 16 at the Graduate Hotel in Providence.

Representative Casimiro was recognized due to her continued efforts to help and support Rhode Island’s children, particularly those in state care.  Currently, she serves as the chairwoman of the House Oversight Subcommittee on Children and Families.

“I am honored and humbled to receive this recognition from Congressman Magaziner due to my advocacy for our state’s children.  Every child’s well-being matters, and it is our duty to help, protect and support our state’s most vulnerable children.  We have made some incredible strides over the past few years to assist and nurture our children in state care, and I will continue to fight for their best interests at the State House,” said Representative Casimiro (D-Dist. 31, North Kingstown, Exeter).

U.S. House Democratic Whip Katherine Clark was a special guest at the event, and Navyn Salem, Karen Hazard and Michelle Wilcox were also honored with the “Women Leading the Way” award.

House Speaker K. Joseph Shekarchi (D-Dist. 23, Warwick) introduced Representative Casimiro at the event and praised her hard work and dedication on behalf of the children and families of Rhode Island.
