MEDIA ADVISORY: Senate Finance Committee meets today and Thursday to hear budget articles and department budgets

STATE HOUSE – The Senate Finance Committee will be meeting twice this week to continue hearing budget articles and department budgets.
The committee is chaired by Sen. Louis P. DiPalma (D-Dist. 12, Middletown, Little Compton, Newport, Tiverton).
Today, Monday, March 16 at 5 p.m. in the Senate Lounge of the State House, the committee will hear the FY 26 revised and FY 27 budgets for the Office of the General Treasurer and the Department of Administration.
The committee will also hear testimony on Article 3, Section 1 (Line Item Veto) and Article 3, Section 3 (Green Buildings Act Transfer).
On Thursday, March 19 at the 3 p.m. in Room 211 of the State House, the committee will hear testimony on the budgets for the Department of Revenue.
The committee will also hear testimony on Article 5, Sections 2 and 6 (Decouple from federal research and development expensing).
The meetings will be televised by Capitol Television on: Cox Communications, channels 15 and 61 for high definition; i3Broadband (Formerly Full Channel) on 15; and Verizon, on channel 34.
