MEDIA ADVISORY: House Finance Committee meets three times this week to continue hearing budget articles; subcommittees meeting twice
|
STATE HOUSE – The House Finance Committee will be meeting three times this week to continue hearing budget articles. The Subcommittee on Public Safety and the Subcommittee on General Government will also meet this week.
On Tuesday, March 3 at the RISE of the House (approximately 4:45 p.m.) in Room 35 of the State House, the committee will hear the following sections from Article 5 (Taxes and Fees) in FY 27 budget:

Section 1 – Tax Amnesty

Sections 2, 5 and 6 – Income Tax Rates, Research and Development Tax Provisions, Child Tax Credit and Social Security Tax
On Wednesday, March 4 at 4 p.m. in Room 35 of the State House, the committee will hear the following FY 27 budget articles:
The committee will also hear testimony on Article 1, Section 8 (Marijuana Trust Fund Transfer) in the FY 26 revised budget.
On Thursday, March 5 at the RISE of the House (approximately 4:45 p.m.) in Room 35 of the State House, the committee will hear the following FY 27 budget articles:
The committee will also hear testimony on Article 1, Section 7 (Infrastructure Bank Transfer) in the FY 26 revised budget.
On Tuesday, March 3 at 3 p.m. in Room 35 of the State House, the Subcommittee on Public Safety will hear the FY 26 revised and FY 27 budgets for Military Staff. The subcommittee is chaired by Rep. William W. O’Brien (D-Dist. 54, North Providence).
On Thursday, March 5 at 3 p.m. in Room 35 of the State House, the Subcommittee on General Government will hear the FY 26 revised and FY 27 budgets for the Board of Elections and the Secretary of State. The subcommittee is chaired by Rep. Alex D. Marszalkowski (D-Dist. 52, Cumberland).
