Media Advisory: Municipal Government and Housing to meet Tuesday
|
STATE HOUSE — The House Committee on Municipal Government and Housing will meet Tuesday to hear bills relating to municipal pension plan audits, municipal small purchase limits and restrictions on landscaping equipment.
The committee is scheduled to meet tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 3, at the rise of the House, sometime after 4:30 p.m. in Room 135 on the first floor of the State House. The committee is scheduled to hear several bills, including:

2026-H 7369 — This legislation introduced by Rep. Leonela Felix (D-Dist. 61, Pawtucket) would amend the audit compliance requirements for municipalities’ contributions to pension plans.

2026-H 7224 — This legislation introduced by Rep. John G. Edwards (D-Dist. 70, Tiverton) would increase the maximum municipal small purchase limits from $10,000 to $25,000 for construction projects and from $5,000 to $10,000 for all other municipal purchases.

2026-H 7150 — This legislation introduced by Rep. Christopher G. Paplauskas (R-Dist. 15, Cranston) would prohibit municipalities from restricting certain landscaping equipment based on its power source.
