Media Advisory: Sponsors, advocates to call for passage of Freedom to Read Act

STATE HOUSE — Rep. David Morales and Sen. Mark McKenney will be joined by the Rhode Island Library Association, the American Library Association, the Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island and local authors and advocates at a State House event tomorrow calling for the passage of the Freedom to Read Act (2025-H 5726, 2025-S 0238) to protect libraries from partisan or doctrinal book-banning efforts and affirm the free speech rights of authors, publishers and readers in Rhode Island.
The event is scheduled tomorrow, Thursday, March 6, at 3 p.m. in the State Library on the second floor of the State House. Those scheduled to speak include:
