MEDIA ADVISORY: Rep. Alzate to hold Women’s Health Forum on Thursday

STATE HOUSE – Rep. Karen Alzate (D-Dist. 60, Pawtucket, Central Falls) will be holding a Women’s Health Forum on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the House Chamber of the State House.
The forum will include two panel discussions with local medical leaders about the most common health issues impacting women in Rhode Island, and how to bridge the gap in women’s healthcare through education, policy and funding opportunities.
“As a new legislative session gets underway, now is the opportune time to educate ourselves on the most current trends in women’s health care and enhance our understanding of how government can collaborate with health care providers, insurers and community stakeholders to more effectively ensure not only that necessary quality care is available to these women, but that it is affordable as well,” said Representative Alzate.
