Media Advisory: State representatives and Working Families Party launch ‘Working Families Agenda’
|
STATE HOUSE — A broad group of representatives from across Rhode Island will come together to announce their Working Families Agenda, a list of top priorities for the 2025 legislative session, on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 3 p.m. in the House Lounge on the second floor of the State House.
The agenda is a list of policies that will improve the lives of working people in Rhode Island, and that the participating lawmakers have agreed to prioritize in order to protect Rhode Islanders from the chaos and cruelty coming from the White House. The Working Families Agenda includes popular policies — like protecting wages, fighting Medicaid cuts and cutting costs for health and child care — that ensure the money generated in Rhode Island goes directly to improving the lives, families and neighborhoods of the people who work for it — not the billionaires buying influence and playing with fire in DC.
Lawmakers will present the bills they will introduce this session and invite their colleagues to join them in showing Rhode Islanders that Democrats in the State House can be counted on to fill the breach in moments of crisis.
Speakers at the event will include Reps. Edith H. Ajello (D-Dist. 1, Providence), Karen Alzate (D-Dist. 60, Pawtucket, Central Falls), David A. Bennett (D-Dist. 20, Warwick, Cranston), Megan L. Cotter (D-Dist. 39, Exeter, Richmond, Hopkinton), Cherie L. Cruz (D-Dist. 58, Pawtucket), Susan R. Donovan (D-Dist. 69, Bristol, Portsmouth), David Morales (D-Dist. 7, Providence), Brandon Potter (D-Dist. 16, Cranston) and Teresa A. Tanzi (D-Dist. 34, South Kingstown, Narragansett), with many others present in support.
The meeting will be live streamed by Capitol Television at capitoltvri.cablecast.tv.
