10/28/2024 MEDIA ADVISORY: Primary care education commission meeting tomorrow
STATE HOUSE – The special legislative commission studying Rhode Island’s health care workforce and issues related to educating and retaining primary care physicians will meet tomorrow with the state health insurance commissioner, as well as two leaders practicing in Rhode Island.

The Special Legislative Commission to Make a Comprehensive Study of Rhode Island’s Healthcare Workforce Related to educating and Retaining Primary Care Physicians and Establishing a State Medical School at the University of Rhode Island is scheduled to meet tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 5:30 p.m. in Room 313 on the third floor of the State House.

On the agenda are presentations by emergency medical physician Dr. L. Anthony Cirillo, and Dr. Eugenio Fernandez, pharmacist and founder of Asthenis USA, a public immunization clinic in Providence, followed by a presentation by Health Insurance Commissioner Cory King. No public comment will be accepted at this meeting.

The meeting will be televised by Capitol Television, which can be seen by Cox Communications subscribers on channels 15 and 61 for high definition, on channel 15 by i3Broadband viewers, and channel 34 for Verizon subscribers.
