STATE HOUSE – The Senate Finance and Education Committees will hold a joint hearing on Tuesday, March 19 at the RISE of the Senate (approximately 4:45 p.m.) in the Senate Lounge of the State House to hear testimony on a department budget, a FY 25 budget article and on several pieces of legislation relating to education.

Among the legislation scheduled to be heard are:

Valverde (D-Dist. 35, North Kingstown, East Greenwich, South Kingstown), modifies the current law to allow for approval of construction projects within school districts, rather than needing the project to be commenced by a certain date, permitting the municipality to take advantage of the state's enhanced school bonuses.
