House Judiciary Committee meets on Thursday to hear several bills
 
STATE HOUSE – The House Judiciary Committee will be meeting Thursday, February 15 at 4 p.m. in the House Lounge of the State House to hear testimony on several bills.

Among the legislation being heard by the committee are the following bills:
  • 2024-H 7100, sponsored by Rep. Edith H. Ajello (D-Dist. 1, Providence), establishes the process to provide a legal mechanism whereby a terminally ill patient may choose to end their life using medications prescribed by a physician.
  • 2024-H 7107, sponsored by Rep. Jason Knight (D-Dist. 67, Barrington, Warren), criminalizes the unauthorized dissemination of sexually explicit images of another person that are created by digital devices or created without the consent of the person depicted.
  • 2024-H 7160, sponsored by Rep. John J. Lombardi (D-Dist. 8, Providence), makes it a felony to price gouge prescriptions or pharmaceuticals in time of a shortage.
  • 2024-H 7307, sponsored by Rep. Enrique George Sanchez (D-Dist. 9, Providence), provides immunity to people involved in commercial sexual activity if they are victims or witnesses to various other offenses and would not grant immunity to law enforcement officers for arresting those persons.
