2/5/2024 MEDIA ADVISORY: Senate Health and Human Services Committee to hear testimony on state hospital realignment
STATE HOUSE — The Senate Health and Human Services Committee is scheduled to meet Thursday to hear testimony on three bills.

The committee will meet Thursday, Feb. 8, at the rise of the Senate session (about 4:30 p.m.) in the Senate lounge on the second floor of the State House.

Scheduled for hearing are:
·         2024-S 2075 — This bill sponsored by Sen. Joshua Miller (D-Dist. 28, Cranston, Providence) would require the secretary of the Executive Office of Health and Human Services to present to the General Assembly a plan for the realignment of state hospitals into a Department of Hospitals no later than July 1, 2024.
·         2024-S 2076 — Sponsored by Sen. Valarie J. Lawson (D-Dist. 14, East Providence), this bill would remove the sunset provision of all statutory law requiring coverage for the treatment of pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders associated with streptococcal infections and pediatric acute onset neuropsychiatric syndrome.
2024-S 2086— Sponsored by Sen. Linda L. Ujifusa (D-Dist. 11, Portsmouth, Bristol), this bill would prohibit healthcare entities from interfering with a patient’s right to choose to obtain a clinician-administered drug from their provider or pharmacy of choice.
