1/5/2024 Chairman DiPalma to participate in White House event next week
STATE HOUSE – Senate Finance Committee Chairman Louis P. DiPalma will be participating in an event held at the White House next week on January 10.  The event is titled “Communities in Action: Building a Better Rhode Island and Connecticut” and is part of a White House series that features local elected officials and community leaders discussing how key investments and programs are improving their state and communities.

“The investments championed by the Biden-Harris administration are having a tangible, positive impact here in Rhode Island, including more than $700 million in private sector investments in our state as a result of legislation such as the American Rescue Plan, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, CHIPS and Science Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act,” said Chairman DiPalma (D-Dist. 12, Middletown, Little Compton, Newport, Tiverton).  “Rhode Island is on far better footing due to the passage of these acts and through these laws, Rhode Island is better positioned to tackle the challenges and the opportunities of the future.”

Chairman DiPalma will discuss how Rhode Island has invested in its road and bridge infrastructure, what Rhode Island has done to address the rising costs of prescription drugs and how the state supports economic development and innovation, specifically highlighting the creation of the Ocean Tech Hub of Southeastern New England in order to leverage Rhode Island’s unique coastal assets.
