Senator Ujifusa thanks her constituents, community leaders and colleagues
|
 Sen. Linda Ujifusa (D-Dist. 11, Portsmouth, southern Bristol) is thanking her constituents, community leaders and colleagues for her first successful session as a state legislator.
“Talking to my constituents, of course, is the best part of this job because they teach me so much about important issues and are so inspiring with the unsung heroic work they do in our communities,” she said.
“Our local elected and appointed government leaders and nonprofit groups also provided me invaluable information that guided my first year,” she added. “Last, but not least, I want to thank my General Assembly colleagues for taking the time to discuss their priorities and how the process works.”
“The biggest lesson I learned,” said Senator Ujifusa, “is that despite our differences about how things should be accomplished, we generally agree about important goals. The key is to work towards finding the areas of consensus on which we can work together.”

21 bills introduced and 125 bills and resolutions co-sponsored seeking affordable healthcare and prescription drugs, limiting pollution and greenhouse gases, and protecting veterans, seniors/retirees, and children.

5 newsletters and weekly social media posts published to keep constituents aware of what's happening at the State House and in our communities

10+ times “Ujifusa” was mispronounced at public events (it's " oo-gee-foo-sa").
Over the summer, Senator Ujifusa will be meeting with constituents, community leaders and colleagues to help her hone 2024 legislative and advocacy goals. She will also be applying for legislative grants for local nonprofit public interest groups. She encourages outreach from those in her district to discuss 2024 legislation and potential grants.
