6/5/2023 Media Advisory: House Health and Human Services Committee meets tomorrow for votes
STATE HOUSE – The House Health and Human Services Committee meets tomorrow to vote on several bills.

The meeting is scheduled tomorrow, Tuesday, June 6, at the rise of the House session (sometime after 5 p.m.) in the House lounge on the second floor of the State House.

Among the bills scheduled for votes are:
  • 2023-H 5428 — Sponsored by Rep. Edith H. Ajello (D-Dist. 1, Providence), this bill prohibits denial of appropriate health care on the basis of age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, color, marital status, familial status, disability, religion, national origin, source of income, source of payment or profession.
  • 2023-H 5870, 2023-S 0927Aaa — This legislation, sponsored by Rep. David A. Bennett (D-Dist. 20, Warwick, Cranston) and Sen. Mark P. McKenney (D-Dist. 30, Warwick), caps the rates nursing service agencies can charge, protects clients from having their staff recruited or hired by a nursing service agency while providing services to them and updates training, reports and other administrative details.
  • 2023-H 6150A — Sponsored by Rep. Brandon Potter (D-Dist. 16, Cranston), this bill requires insurers to cover the treatment of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for the prevention of HIV and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) for treatment of HIV infection, beginning Jan. 1.
