MEDIA ADVISORY: House Committee on Environment and Natural Resources to vote Wed. on foam container ban
|
STATE HOUSE – The House Committee on Environment and Natural Resources is scheduled to meet Wednesday, June 7, at the rise of the House (sometime after 5:00 p.m.) in Room 135 on the first floor of the State House. The committee will vote on six bills and hear one.
Among the bills to be voted on are:

2023-H 5090A — This bill, introduced by House Committee on Environment and Natural Resources Chairman David A. Bennett (D-Dist. 20, Warwick, Cranston), would prohibit a covered establishment from preparing, selling, processing or providing food or beverages in or on a disposable food service container that is composed in whole or in part of polystyrene foam (commonly known as Styrofoam).

2023-H 6342 — This bill, introduced by Rep. Megan L. Cotter (D-Dist. 39, Exeter, Hopkinton, Richmond), would create a 12-member legislative commission to evaluate and provide recommendations on proper forest management for fire prevention, and report back to the House no later than February 28, 2024.

2023-H 5863A — This bill, introduced by Rep. Tina L. Spears (D-Dist. 36, Charlestown, Westerly, South Kingstown, New Shoreham), would provide amendments to multiple sections of law related to the marine fisheries council.
