4/3/2023 MEDIA ADVISORY: Senate Finance Committee meets twice this week to hear budget articles, department budgets and legislation
STATE HOUSE — The Senate Finance Committee will meet twice this week to consider one bill, hear a presentation from the governor’s staff, and hear testimony on an article from the governor’s proposed FY 2024 state budget (2023-H 5200), department budgets and legislation.

The committee is chaired by Sen. Louis P. DiPalma (D-Dist. 12, Middletown, Little Compton, Newport, Tiverton).

On Tuesday, April 4 at the RISE of the Senate (approximately 5 p.m.) in the Senate Lounge, the committee will consider legislation (2023-S 0464) sponsored by Sen. Hanna M. Gallo (D-Dist. 27, Cranston, West Warwick) which would add a "national touring production" to the productions that are considered an "accredited theater production" for the purposes of musical and theatrical production tax credits.

The committee will also hear a presentation by members of the administration on state coordination of federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) funding.   

On Thursday, April 6 at 2 p.m. in the Senate Lounge, the committee will hear testimony on the department budgets for the Office of the Attorney General and the Department of Corrections. 

The committee will also hear testimony on Article 3, Section 9 of the FY 2024 state budget, which relates to community confinement medical supervision.
