MEDIA ADVISORY: Senate Finance Committee to meet Tuesday to hear budget articles on sales tax, small business

STATE HOUSE — The Senate Finance Committee will meet Tuesday to hear testimony on articles from the governor’s proposed FY 2024 state budget (2023-H 5200).
The committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the rise of the Senate (about 4:30 p.m.) in the Senate Lounge on the second floor of the State House.
The following articles will be heard by the committee:
· Article 4, Section 2: Relating to taxes (sales tax rate reduction)
· Article 6, Section 3: Relating to small business (sales tax exemption for truck trade-in value)
The committee is chaired by Sen. Louis P. DiPalma (D-Dist. 12, Middletown, Little Compton, Newport, Tiverton).
