MEDIA ADVISORY: Senate Finance meets Tuesday to begin FY 2024 budget hearings
|
STATE HOUSE – The Senate Finance Committee will be meeting on Tuesday, January 31 at the RISE of the Senate (approximately 4:30 p.m.) in the Senate Lounge of the State House to begin hearing articles from the governor’s proposed FY 2024 state budget (2023-H 5200).
The committee is chaired by Sen. Louis P. DiPalma (D-Dist. 12, Middletown, Little Compton, Newport, Tiverton).
The following articles will be heard by the committee:
The committee will also hear testimony on Article 2, Section 1 of the FY 2023 supplemental budget (2023-H 5199) which relates to temporary relief with the Public Service Corporations Tax.
The committee is also expected to consider the reappointment of James E. Thorsen as the Director of the Department of Administration, which requires the advice and consent of the Senate.
