1/30/2023 MEDIA ADVISORY: Reps. Fenton-Fung and Baginski to hold CPR training session at the State House
STATE HOUSE – On Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 3 p.m. in the House Lounge, Reps. Barbara Ann Fenton-Fung and Jacquelyn Baginski will hold a “life-saving” training session for other members of the legislature and staff.

“As we saw on that football field a few weeks ago, knowing how to properly perform CPR can mean the difference between life and death in certain situations.  Emergencies can happen anywhere, at any time, and if a medical event were to occur on the House floor or within the State House walls, it is important that our colleagues have the knowledge to act quickly and correctly during an emergency,” said Representatives Fenton-Fung and Baginski.

The program was initiated by Representative Fenton-Fung (R-Dist. 15, Cranston), a health care professional, after watching the Buffalo Bills’ Damar Hamlin’s life being saved on the football field after he went into cardiac arrest.

Through her work at Professional Ambulance, Representative Baginski (D-Dist. 17, Cranston) is a Certified Basic Life Support Instructor.  She will be offering instruction on life-saving emergency responses, including CPR, the Heimlich maneuver and how to use an AED.
