4/4/2022 MEDIA ADVISORY: House Finance Subcommittees meet five times this week to continue hearing department budgets
STATE HOUSE – The House Finance Subcommittees will continue meeting this week to hear testimony on department budgets from the FY 2023 (2022-H 7123) budget and the FY 2022 (2022-H 7122) supplemental budget.

On Tuesday, April 5 at 3 p.m. in Room 35 of the State House, the Subcommittee on Public Safety, chaired by Rep. Jean-Phillipe Barros (D-Dist. 59, Pawtucket), will hear testimony on the Judiciary and the Office of the Public Defender.

Also on Tuesday, April 5 at the RISE of the House (approximately 5 p.m.) in Room 35 of the State House, the Subcommittee on Education, chaired by Rep. Gregg Amore (D-Dist. 65, East Providence), will hear testimony on the Atomic Energy Commission and Public Higher Education.

On Wednesday, April 6 at 4 p.m. in Room 35 of the State House, the Subcommittee on Environment and Transportation, chaired by Rep. Carlos E. Tobon (D-Dist. 58, Pawtucket), will hear testimony on the Department of Transportation and the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority.

On Thursday, April 7 at the 3 p.m. in Room 35 of the State House, the Subcommittee on General Government, chaired by Rep. Camille F.J. Vella-Wilkinson (D-Dist. 21, Warwick), will hear testimony on the Department of Revenue.

Also on Thursday, April 7at the RISE of the House (approximately 5 p.m.) in Room 35 of the State House, the Subcommittee on Human Services, chaired by Rep. Alex D. Marszalkowski (D-Dist. 52, Cumberland), will hear testimony on the Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals and the Office of the Mental Health Advocate.

For all five hearings, individuals may testify in person before the committee at the State House. Sign-up sheets are available in/outside the hearing room.

Written testimony is strongly encouraged and may be submitted via HouseFinance@rilegislature.gov.  Testimony will be posted on the General Assembly website: http://www.rilegislature.gov/Special/comdoc/Pages/HFIN.aspx.

The meetings will be televised on Capitol Television, which can be seen on Cox Channels 15, and 61, in high definition on Cox Channel 1061, on Full Channel on Channel 15 and on Channel 34 by Verizon subscribers.
