12/3/2021 Rep. Hull receives Regional Legislator of the Year Award from National Black Caucus of State Legislators
STATE HOUSE – Rep. Raymond A. Hull (D-Dist. 6, Providence, North Providence) received the Regional Legislator of the Year Award last night at the 45th Annual Legislative Conference of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators (NBCSL).

The conference was held from November 30 to December 3 in Atlanta, Georgia.

“I am grateful and humbled to be recognized by my colleagues of the NBCSL and I am thankful for all the good work this organization accomplishes in the name of every African American in our country.  The recent past has been extremely challenging for Black Americans and whether we are discussing the impacts of COVID-19 on people of color or the reexamination of the inequalities and injustices experienced by Black Americans within the judicial system, the NBCSL has been there every step of the way to support and help our country’s Black population.  It is a true honor to serve alongside the dedicated members of the NBCSL and I thank them for their service and this incredible honor they have bestowed upon me,” said Representative Hull, Chairman of the House Municipal Government and Housing Committee.

Representative Hull also serves as the Chairman of Region One of the NBCSL, a position he has been elected to by the NBCSL since 2016.  The region comprises Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey and Vermont.

The National Black Caucus of State Legislators primary mission is to develop, conduct and promote educational, research and training programs designed to enhance the effectiveness of its members, as they consider legislation and issues of public policy which impact, either directly or indirectly upon "the general welfare" of African American constituents within their respective jurisdictions.
