3/8/2021 MEDIA ADVISORY: House COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force meets on Wednesday for an update on vaccine program and public comment
STATE HOUSE – The House of Representatives Task Force for COVID-19 Vaccine will be meeting virtually via WebEx on Wednesday, March 10 at 4 p.m. to hear an update on the vaccination program and to take public testimony. 

The update will be delivered by Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott, Director of the RI Department of Health (RIDOH) and Dr. Philip A. Chan, Consultant Medical Director with the RIDOH.

Both verbal and written testimony are welcome.

DEADLINE: Requests for verbal testimony must be submitted via the link, by 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2021.

Please indicate your name and the topic(s) that you would like to address in the subject field of your email. This inbox is for written testimony only.

DEADLINE: In order for materials to be shared with members and posted to the General Assembly website in a timely manner, written testimony must be submitted no later than three hours prior to the posted meeting time. All testimony received after deadline will be sent to committee members and posted to the website -- as soon as possible. For faster processing, it is recommended that testimony is submitted as a PDF file.

Testimony will be posted on the General Assembly website, hcovid19vaccine/pages/hc19vaccineagendas.aspx.

The meeting will be televised by Capitol Television, which can be seen on Cox Channels 15 and 61, in high definition on Cox Channel 1013, on Full Channel on Channel 15 and on Channel 34 by Verizon subscribers.  The meeting can be live streamed at http://www.rilegislature.gov/CapTV/Pages/default.aspx.

The task force, chaired by Rep. Raymond A. Hull (D-Dist. 6, Providence, North Providence), was created to ensure that Rhode Island’s distribution of the vaccine is done in a timely manner following the CDC guidelines and that front-line workers, the health-compromised and the elderly are given access first, and also to make certain the needs of the underserved populations are appropriately addressed.
