3/3/2021 Bennett applauds grant to Thrive Behavioral Health
STATE HOUSE – Rep. David A. Bennett is very pleased and grateful that Thrive Behavioral Health in his district is among the seven statewide winners of grants from the Rhode Island Health and Educational Building Corporation (RIHEBC).

The behavioral health care agency, located 2756 Post Road, Warwick, will receive a grant of $94,229 to develop unused space at its offices into five therapeutic session offices and three group rooms.

Representative Bennett, who is a psychiatric nurse and who once worked at Thrive as a registered nurse case manager, said he is very glad to see the funding issued to an agency that provides such essential health care services to the area.

“Especially with the toll that a yearlong pandemic has taken on mental health, resources put toward making mental health care services more available is money well spent. I can personally attest to the critical role Thrive plays in helping the people in our community, and I am thrilled that this grant will provide an expansion that will allow Thrive to expand to help as many people as possible,” said Representative Bennett (D-Dist. 20, Warwick, Cranston).

The RIHEBC assists municipalities, public school districts, and public and private nonprofit educational and healthcare organizations in securing funding for capital projects, especially tax-exempt debt financing. Last week it announced a total of $516,946 in project grants to seven nonprofit health, education, and community service organizations statewide to complete major projects that will help them grow and expand services to better meet the needs of Rhode Islanders during COVID-19 and once the pandemic abates.
