2/4/2021 Donovan named to House leadership posts
STATE HOUSE – Rep. Susan R. Donovan will serve as a House deputy majority leader and has been named to several committee leadership posts for the 2021-2022 term, House Speaker K. Joseph Shekarchi announced.

Representative Donovan (D-Dist. 69, Bristol, Portsmouth) was named to the House Oversight Committee and will serve as chairwoman of its new Subcommittee on Aging and Senior Services. The Oversight Committee reviews the operation and efficiency of various state departments and agencies, fulfilling the legislature’s oversight duties. Its new subcommittees will enable the committee to sharpen its focus on issues before it.

Representative Donovan will also serve as the second vice chairwoman of the Health and Human Services Committee, and as a member of the House Education Committee. Both these committees are new this term, having been created to divide the vast work of the former Health, Education and Welfare Committee, on which Representative Donovan had served since her first term in 2017.

Additionally, she will serve as a member of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee.

Representative Donovan was first elected to the House in 2016. In addition to her work on the former Health, Education and Welfare Committee, she has also previously served on the Environment and Natural Resources Committee.
